Had dinner here last night and food and service were great. There was 10 of us and the staff were very good. The ravioli was amazing and lamb cutlets were very delicious. Everyone was happy with their meal and it was BYO too which we love. Will definitely be back and recommend it too!!
Unpretentious modern Italian. All dishes were very well prepared using good quality ingredients and we enjoyed everything we had. The prices are a bit on the high side however being BYO makes up for it.
Four of us ate here on Friday night and it was excellent. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the food was fresh and very tasty and well made and being BYO we could bring our own wine and has a great night. The crab meat linguine was beautiful and light with fresh pasta and a great chilli oil. We all enjoyed our mains as well – the lamb rack was particularly good. We shared the cheese platter which was a perfect end to a great meal. It wasn’t a cheap meal, but it was good value – fine dining and we thought it was worth it. Can’t wait to go back again!
Came here for dinner on a Tuesday night. Service was great and the food was excellent. We started with a hearing plate which was filled with sliced meats, cheese, bread and arancini. I then had the special market fish, groper with green beans which was the perfect size and taste.
Had a couple of visits now and still can’t quite make up my mind. The food is good, the service is excellent and the space is attractive inside and out and yet it seems to lack something for me. Loads of loyal followers so they are clearly doing something right. This visit I had the calamari and orange special. A fresh and tangy spring dish it looked the part however I found the calamari a little lost for flavour.
Wonderful wonderful. Yesterday 21 of us dined at La Capaninna after our Grandson’s Baptism. It also happened to be Mother’s Day. The preparations and emails had been going on a long time with discussions about menu selection and the always ongoing problem with fluctuating numbers. Throughout all the emails and phone calls Francescea was marvellous. Always patient and accommodating. On the day I went early to do some table dressing and once again Francescea was wonderful and very helpful. The lunch was a hugh success. We had a fixed menu and every dish was superb. Service was excellent- considering it was also Mothers Day and the place was packed. Having said that, they don’t cram you in at La Capannia. There was plenty of room for all of us with 2 highchairs and some prams. THANKYOU Francesca for your excellent attention and professional attitude and also many thanks to all the staff who attended our table. You all helped to make our Grandsons christening a marvellous occasion.
Great food and service. Love this place, the food is always very good with fresh twists regularly and considering the location and level of sophistication in cooking is great value for money. Our favorite italian without question with a great wine list and friendly service
