This store is located in Westfield Miranda and is called de france now. There was a wide variety of baked goods for sale and all looked quite nice in the cabinets. It was quite busy and there was plenty of seating available but as soon as a table became free another set of people were already sat down at it. Decided to get takeaway and the Custard Danish looked a treat. Glad I went with preferred flavour as had bought another pastry earlier in the day and was not as happy with that one. Pastry is flaky and had a sugary top. Quite delicious and service is nice here too.
This place is so much nicer since it got renovated and re-opened! There is much more seating, the styling is fresh and modern, and there’s a more authentic French feel – so lovely. The food is also better than ever (it was always pretty good though) and drinks are great too! I’d recommend ordering a crepe with a side salad or a melted toastie or sandwich. My coffee did taste a little burnt/bitter to me, but still drinkable. I might just be a bit picky about my coffee, to be fair. Regardless, it’s a lovely place for long lunches or catch-up dates with friends. Excellent cakes and pastries too (which is to be expected, because France).
Crepes and chai latte were nice, albeit pricy. Good place if you have loud kids, they won’t disturb the next table and you can see into the play gym below. The ambient noise channels up from other floors, we measured as 75-80 decibels.
Just found out about this cafe and I’m so glad I did! All the products taste amazing! If you are ever near you have to try the almond croissants and fruit tarts…delicious!
Worst coffee ever! Couldn’t manage to master a weak skim latte! Sent it back and it was just as bad when they made the second coffee! Would never recommend this cafe for coffee!
