Ordered the The New Classic which was the best variation of this dish compared to what I’ve tried in other cafes (i.e. the dish with a jumble of ingredients). Generous serving of cherry tomatoes, basil oiled sourdough was tasty and a good idea. Liked how the salmon add on wasn’t smoked salmon but flavoured cut pieces.’Takes the Cake’ hotcakes were delicious.Service was ok, plates came out around the same time, of course with a bit of a wait on the busy weekend.

We headed to Mortdale to try out the new kid on the block, the Silver Fox Cafe. In a area with plenty of bakeries, charcoal chicken shops and grocery stores, Mortdale has been missing a quality cafe. This certainly fills that void. As soon as you enter this cafe, it feels fresh and the decor is on trend. Pine wooden pieces, cement floors and a touch of white, the cafe feels modern and we love the Kate Moss artwork in the back room. There’s also an outdoor area if you’d prefer to sit outside.

Came for lunch with my daughter and we both decided on the Holy Guacamole Burger and a flat white and a cappuccino. The flat white was so weak, I thought it was just milk. My daughter thought the same. The redemption was the burger. The presentation of the burger didnt look anything fantastic, but when I took a bite it was juicy and full of flavour. A bit of a bite to the burger with a jalapeno salsa. The all day breakfast menu was quite comprehensive, but the lunch menu I felt left a little light on with limited options. The burger I thought was a little on the pricey side at $22 with a small serve of fries included in the price. An extra $1 if you wanted Sweet Potato Fries. Will try there breakfast menu, but will try a smoothie or juice instead of a coffee.

New local cafe with an innovative and exciting menu. Most dishes are pretty pricey, not many in the mid range. Regardless, the Baba’s bowl and really enjoyed it ! The serving was generous and the each component of the dish worked really well together. Loved the garlic yoghurt and there were nice big chunks of chorizo. Would be keen to come back sometime and try something else !
