We decided to give this place a go as we walked past so many times. It’s nice place for a date night. I wasn’t able to get a pic of the food as I had a hungry man on my hands lol but I really liked the style of plates they had. It seemed very authentic and pretty. It is a little too pricy, well for Thai food that is. Didn’t like the satay chicken skewers. The massaman was okay a little chewy

We had the chicken pad thai take away. It was tasteless and watery with not much chicken. I would not eat here again and I wouldn’t recommend it either.

Very good for a local. I really don’t understand the reviews below – my family and friends have eaten here many many times in the past three years and have never had bad food. I guess you can be unlucky sometimes like the diners who posted bad reviews, and maybe you’re more likely to post a review if you’re unhappy than always satisfied!I agree you wouldn’t go out of your way to visit Sri Arun but as a suburban Thai it is, we think, above par (and we speak as former Newtown and Marrickville locals with high expectations of small, family restaurants).Massaman curry is a highlight, and the stir fries and salads are always very generous and full of great ingredients – not like the four prawns and soggy shallots that you’d see in some places.Watch for the specials on the blackboard – often surprising combinations and based on seasonal food. BYO for wine and beer with a BWS down the road and a pub bottle shop across the street.Excellent place to take older children too – we’ve had nights with four adults at one table and the six primary and high school aged kids at another with the staff doing a great job of waiting/entertaining the brood so we felt like we could relax and eat as grown ups. It’s not Sailor’s Thai, but then you’re not paying a premium either. It’s fresh, tasty, tender and always leaves us with a smile.

Horrible. Indelible. We got the lunch specials take away at work. It was very quick which was good but as we started eating it became obvious that we had been given last nights left overs. The pad Thai chicken had no chicken, the veges with peanut sauce had no peanut sauce and instead what tasted like peanut butter mixed with oil. The rice was clumpy, mushy and tasteless. This place is an embarrassment to Thai food and i will definitely not be going back there!!

It’s ok I guess. Went with a couple of friends and was pleased with the service and price. That was about it.Food was your basic Thai but with below average ingredients. Tasted fine but I was surprised to not get diahrea after the meal. There are better places around.
