Wow, what a gem this restaurant is! With stunning views of the water, gorgeous food and wonderful service, it seems that this place can do no wrong! All around we could hear tables say how delicious the food was and every dish was polished clean, including ours, by the end. The menu is great for vegetarians, pescatarians and plenty of meat options – they even had gluten free bread. For main, we had the lamb and it was wonderful. What I could not get past was how great the service was. Stepping inside and meeting Omar, who declares ‘Welcome home!’ and shakes your hand made a real impression. Our glasses were never empty and although it is busy, the staff ensured that we were very well looked after.By the end of the meal, we made another reservation to bring family in 2 weeks – no one should have to miss out on this place!
The warm and lively atmosphere at this restaurant was absolutely amazing!! The staff were attentive, funny and laid back all at the same time, and they made us feel right at home from the minute we set foot in the restaurant. Drops of rose water for our hands prior to starting our meal was a nice added touch. The menu had many exotic choices and we were impressed by every single dish that was served tonight. Indeed a unique and memorable dining experience.
Service is really amazing! Visiting from Dubai and was overall happy with everything! Prices are also reasonably priced awesome presentation of meals…in cute tagine pots morrocan meatballs were really yummy…but more flavor/seasoning would of made them better!
Afous reminds me of the family style Italian restaurants that were so much more prevalent on the North Shore twenty years ago. You are greeted on arrival with a ‘Welcome Home’, and although that may seem a bit naf to some I very much enjoy the friendly service and the unpretentious but tasty food. Our group of 7 shared tapas entrees, a number of mains and some desserts for $60pp (not including wine, which is BYO only with no corkage charged). We left full, relaxed, and happy.
Excellent food and service to match. I recommend the meatballs and the b’stilla mm mm so tasty. Also the pouring of the tea is very impressive- make sure you get the tea
My first experience and definitely not the last! We were received by staff and Manager, greeted by name which was a wonderful personal touch that carried throughout the evening to our departure. The ambience was great with soft music and a wonderful view of Middle Harbour outside the Marina surrounds. The service was exceptional the whole evening and it’s good to know that some places still do care about customer service and satisfaction. With advice from our waiter of our initial selections, we ordered 4x tapas dishes and a main which were cooked very well, our favourite being the prawns and scallops that were grilled perfectly. We were offered complimentary bread which came out hot and fresh allowing us to enjoy the leftover garlic and tomato sauces from the tapas dishes happilyI just wish I wasn’t so full and needed to pass up on dessert, though I look forward to my next visit to sample other parts of the menu.
Fantastic food! The flavours are just spectacular. I love how they marry Moroccan with Spanish to create a unique and tasty fusion. Highly recommend the grilled octopus and the haloumi entrees. I can’t wait to come back here.
