  We came here a weekend on a Groupon deal of $158 for sparkling high tea for 4 people. For the price we paid, it was a great deal but I would have been disappointed if I had paid full price. First the positives, the house is gorgeous and I love the old style and original decor inside as well as outside. It’s on a main busy road but the house is tucked away from the hustle and bustle so you feel you are in a relaxing setting. The place gets a lot of light which helps create a nice ambience. I had a great time catching up and chatting to my lady friends and we were there for a good few hours. The place was fairly empty and the staff let us be. Great selection of teas. It was hard to decide with that many good choices. Coming from London, I am used to fantastic high teas and unfortunately, I thought the food was very average. None of the food items stood out which is a shame. The sandwiches looked and tasted ordinary. Same for the sweet items. The scones were tasty but on the dry side. And proper clotted cream is a rare commodity in Australia! The service was okay but as someone mentioned, it wasn’t exactly well explained what each item was. I don’t think the place is very organized. When I booked, I received an email confirmation but then a few days later, received another email confirmation for a booking for 2 people for another day under my name. I had to call to get the extra confirmation cancelled and make sure they still had me booked for the first email confirmation I received. Then, after we had gone to high tea, I received yet another email booking confirmation for another future date …

  Delicious high tea here, we were very happy to be sitting in such a beautiful place eating scrumptious food. The atmosphere was gorgeous, but the service could be improved – it took a while to call over our waitress but we were there at a busy time.

  Lovely location on Military Road in a stunning old colonial homestead surrounded by manicured gardens and flowers. We had a high tea there and whilst it was a lovely setting, it was strangely quiet with the staff leaving us alone. The tea selection is pretty straight forward without too much fancy stuff. There is a lot of sweet on the plates and disappointingly very little savoury items. The kids menu is pretty nice and includes fairy bread. I’ve been to a lot of high tea spots and this is reasonably priced but needs a little work on the content/presentation/staff. I’ll try again soon to see if its improved. foodiemookie.com
