Went to Goemon with the family for dinner. We all ordered the banquet and all agreed this was fantastic value, compared with ordering individual dishes. Started with miso soup and edamame and steamed gyoza. All very good! Then the serious tastes begin: bring on the salmon and spicy leek wrap, followed by my favourite – the tuna and kingfish carpaccio. Unbelievably fresh and delicious. Bring on the prawn tempura and mixed vegetables, the Kobe steak, Teriyaki chicken with rice. There was certainly enough food and even my husband commented he was full! This hardly ever happens. Well done Goemon! Really enjoyed it all and of course we will be back! Arigato Gozaimasu!

Gone down hill. I have been visiting Goe Mon for many years. I went recently for lunch after not having been for a while, and was unfortunately highly disappointed. The service was lack-lustre and we had to wait to be seated and to order far longer than we should have considering the restaurant was less than half full. We ordered our favourite dishes from previous visits (tempura gyoza, tuna and kingfish carpaccio, salmon and spicy leek wrap) and were sad to find that the quality of the dishes had gone down hill significantly since our last visit. Most disappointing was the salmon and spicy leek wrap, our former favourite – the rice was stodgy and it was just not enjoyable. I will definitely think twice before returning again.

Miss their old location. New place has shocking atmosphere, will never be as quaint or have as good a vibe as the last one did (near Bradley’s Head Rd). Food still outstanding as ever, but Goe Mon has lost its original charm which made it such a destination for many. That was a few years ago now, but a shame nevertheless.

Love it!. Sashimi is super fresh! Wagyu hot pot is also delicious. The staff are so friendly and remember us each time we visit. We have tried so many Japanese restaurants in Sydney but always go back to Goemon.

Yum. Best sushi on the North Shore. Spicy Salmon Leek wraps are awesome.

Can I move in, please?. Every time I visit Sydney I make an effort to visit this restaurant to eat in or takeaway at least. The food is amazing. Agedashi tofu absolutely to die for and everything else I’ve sampled has been incredibly good also. My only complaint is that the menu is so good, I end up ordering too much food! But hey, eating leftovers the next day isn’t the worst thing in the world. Service was a little distracted but they are very busy and you don’t have a big wait for food. They are also excellent at timing the next item as you finish the previous one. When I move to Sydney, I might just move into their kitchen. But seriously I have to live near this place!
