Came in to grab some takeaway sushi and settled on the cooked tuna and cucumber rolls from the pre-prepared packs in the counter. This is where the chain outlets really come into their own with the large turnover and volume, ensuring fresh, quality sushi. The sushi here was average
Just passing on by when then thought of lunch struck me. Always a good thing. And Japanese is always a good thing. But not so this place. On the menu was Udon tempura where the broth was bland and tempura heavy. Then the curry chicken katsu which was mainstream enough but with an average bit of chicken and heavy crumb. Finally, the sushi roll which had over sweetened rice (some may like that) and really soft and tough nori which suggests a lack of freshness. Really wish I’d found another place. Walked out and past a bunch of other Japanese places and the food envy bus hit me!
