3.5Huge old cafe on the main street. It first opened in 1919 so its almost 100 years old. An amazing achievement. The place was buzzing with old and young and everyone in between. We both wanted a coffee and a snack and some refuge from a torrential downpour outside. They’d had a dry spell around here but things have certainly changed in the last week or so.Interesting decor here. Bit of a clash of colours. Blue and yellow booths with black and white walls. Old photos on the wall as well. Lots of atmosphere here. My long black was fantastic. Dark and strong with great length. Good beans – Byron Bay coffee – and very well made. A good coffee. My partner wasn’t so enthusiastic about her skinny latte which she felt was a little underpowered. We had some lamington with cream as well mainly for a bit more olde world experience. Speaking of which we saw a huge plate of chips and gravy going past to another table. The staff here were pleasant or brusque depending on the person. I liked the place though. It’s an experience.
