Great to have a local fish restaurant with a big array of grilled fresh fish. I had whiting and my wife had salmon. My whiting was a good size portion, tasty and well cooked. My wife’s salmon was a little under done but that was because she asked for medium cooking. Sides were cauliflower beetroot which I enjoyed but my wife less do. Fantastic mushy please and Chios but the chips were over salted as all good in Neutral Bay. Efficient friendly staff. Not byo but a good selection of wines. We will be back regularly.
We ordered fish and chips with a side of coleslaw. The fish had a nice crunch batter, and the house made tartare was nice and tangy. The chips were nice and crunchy as well. The coleslaw was nice and refreshing, the dressing was light but still had flavour and the addition of the pear gave it a nice sweetness. Will be back to try other items. twohappybellies.com
Most amazing lunch ever!. Best fish tacos! exceptional service and so much food. Thanks guys!!
Excellent! The fish is very…. Excellent! The fish is very fresh and perfectly cooked, with a good range of fish to choose from. The real star is the sides! The roast pumpkin with goats curd is exceptional. I would also recommend the fennel salad. In fact all of the sides were absolutely delicious.Very impressed, this will become a local favourite for us from now on.Only down side is no baby change table (that I could find).
A rip off!. If you’re after good takeaway fish and chips don’t go to Finefish. I went there tonight and paid $18 for a SMALL piece of grilled barramundi (no chips or salad are included) and $7 for 6 pieces of crumbed calamari rings. The barramundi was small and below average taste and the calamari was chewy and over crumbed. I will never be going back to Finefish.
Fish on the Lower North Shore. The fish is fresh and is cooked to order. The new restaurant fit out is simple and unpretentious. It isn’t the most affordable place for seafood, but at least you know that you’re getting what you paid for. A guest at my table had her fish overcooked, but they resolved that issue for her without too much fuss. You can also buy fresh fish/seafood from a tiny counter to take home and cook. There’s plenty of parking in the evening. No need to go to the cramped (packed full of tourists!) and pricey Sydney Fish Markets for a seafood lunch.
Fish and chips are good – best I’ve had in a long time. Too bad the guy at the front doesn’t know what MSC means…
