I have been going to kabocha for at least 12 years and it still has the best chicken katsu curry that Ive ever found in Sydney! Tastes just as good as the katsu Currys Ive had all over Japan.

Been going to this local place for many years with friends and the katsu don is one of the best I have ever had. Very friendly and considerate staff. Definitely a secret gem!

This place is our absolute favourite dinner spot. It’s hand down delicious, no fuss, no frills Japanese food. My favourite is the miso ramen, my partners favourite is the hot and spicy ramen. It’s cheap too, coming in at about $25 for the both of us!! When we’re here for dinner the inside (which fits around 15 people) is full, but we prefer to sit outside as there is usually a table set up outside. Best kept secret in neutral bay.

Great Japanese place, simple and tasty food with great prices, great service when taking away or eating in. Im regularly here for lunch or dinner and will keep going!

Not good at all!… the salmon teri don was slobbered in what is probably Maggi’s teriyaki sauce, salmon was cooked through and not rare, seared slices (it is only an $11 don I guess…?) and the salmon rice ball for $2.50… geez I thought I found a great deal until I bit into it! Seaweed wrap was soft and chewy- not crisp and fresh; rice was dry, bland and not fresh; small amount of salmon in middle was grose and had bones! I didn’t even finish it! Very disappointing and baffled as this is a Japanese run place where Japanese people actually eat at…

I randomly wandered into this place, which is tucked in from the street outside. There were many Japanese eateries around this place, but this place just seemed like one of those ‘local’ places – not hip, but cozy and comfortable. I ordered the Tosa ramen off the picture menu on the wall, without really knowing what it was and it turned out great! I love shaved bonito (katsuobushi) and I was really surprised at how much there was, and really made the broth so nice.Would definitely come back again to try some other dish (or I might just stick to Tosa ramen, because I liked it so much)
