Surprised at the rice. I was really excited to try this place out as it was rly close to my place and I thought I would be a regular. I had a teryaki salmon Don and was really surprised that such an authentic looking Japanese place wasn’t using Japanese rice? (maybe I was mistaken but I’ve been eating Japanese food around the world for years and something just didn’t feel right with the rice). I was also rather disappointed that there weren’t any aburi or curry tonkatsu 🙁 the menu was rather small.

I just ate there order a buta don and salmon teriyaki don. There is so much sauce and sauce is very salty. It taste like drinking soy sauce. I had to gulp down a glass of water after each bite. After I complain they didn’t ofter change to another dish or refund. Would never go there again.

Scrumdiddleyumptious!. Having lived in Japan and once back in Australia have sought great Japanese eateries wherever I go, I can now add Asa Don to my list. The gyoza and donburi were delicious. The staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. The cost is well priced for quality Japanese food. We’ll be back!
