Coffee here is consistently great and I’ve been here for over 3 years. Staff are always smiling and friendly, food is also pretty good (a bit on the pricey side however).

While up in Newcastle, we completed a leg of the Great North Walk. Walking down Merewether Beach, we noticed a hotspot called the Blue Door Kiosk  and decided to check it out. We noticed they had a unique vegan menu item we thought would be perfect to refresh us. Peanut Butter Crunch Cocowhip $13

Palatable but definitely far from being worthy of a return. The $9.50 smoothie (or natural juice) came in a very small! ~200mL bottle and didot appear to have been made fresh onsite, but rather bought in and sold at a huge mark up. You could get juice of the same quality or better from Coles for less than half the price. The Teriyaki Salmon Noodle Bowl is really a sub-par attempt at a Eurasian mix. The salmon fillet was sizeable and well cooked (although frozen), but the thin flat noodles were drowned in overly sweet teriyaki sauce the taste simply did not go well together. The service was quick and friendly, The restaurant had a nice décor and vibe. The food definitely needs to be worked on!

Okay so this place has some of the best Avo on toast and the coffee is great too. The avo toast is better than I’ve had in Sydney BUT it’s also way more expensive than anything I’ve had in Sydney. $22 + $5 for a coffee? I’m never going to be able to afford a house deposit at this rate. Service is also kinda slow but
