This little place was super cute on a recent trip to Newcastle. Definitely recommend whatever specials they have on the menu at the time. I indulged in a felafel, rocket, chicken, haloumi, beetroot hummus, tzatziki and salsa tortilla that blew my socks off. Their specialised juices are pretty amazing too.If you’re ever up on the NSW coast in need of lunch, it’s a cute little spot. The food might take a little while to come out but it does so very reasonably priced and with a smile!
Terrible customer service, Over-ripe avocado was served, not a big deal, something that can easily be fixed, but the way it was handled was embarrassing. Was told to ‘describe the flavours I was experiencing’ as ‘We all tried it out the back and we think its fine’ ‘So how do you like your avocados, under-ripe?’ – moral of the story I didn’t pay good to patronised. Everyone else’s meals looked lovely and the coffee was good.

Newcastle’s CBD seems to be much more lively than it was a few years ago, and it’s great to know that we can get food like this. I have a feeling we’ll be going back.
Saluna Kitchen and Coffee is located in Newcastle and is a bit hipster. You’ll see some healthy food options and you’ll see recycled furniture in the cafe. You could easily picture this cafe in Surry Hills in Sydney. I ordered the beetroot cakes with a salad. The beetroot cakes were delicious and I found the salad was refreshing. I just wish there was more of a generous portion to the dish. The beetroot cakes look like uncooked meat but trust me, it was delicious!
Amazing place. A-grade coffee & the beetroot/potato fritters where crazy good. Hard to pick as all looked good on menu. Great vibe & staff friendly. Fully worthy!!
