Avsar might just be a rebranding of the long-standing Erskineville pide place and the pide was a weird experience. I ordered pickup and was advised that it was ready after 11 minutes, which seems way too short to make pide. They couldn’t have pre-made so many types of pide but maybe they use a really hot oven, which would explain the burnt bits. However I can’t reconcile the chewy parts of the crust with the really soggy parts that stuck to the box. Edit: reduced the rating to 1 because the leftovers are so bad. Normally an extra stint in the oven makes pide crispier but these seem to end up soggier.
