A 5 minute walk from Newtown station at Flourmill Studios is home to this hidden gem that offers delicious and nutritious (it’s not often I use that phrase in a non ironic way – its usually one or the other hey?), fulfilling meals. I came here with my sister for some breakfast and we both left feeling satisfied. My order was for the real life rainbow ‘My Mushroom Sourdough’ – cooked mushroom on sourdough bread spread with beetroot hummus and a helping of salad: rocket/kale, cherry tomatoes w/ balsamic ($14). I added halloumi ($2) and 2 poached eggs ($2) because I couldn’t resist a big hearty breakfast. The mushrooms were flavourful and moist, that hummus was life changing and the extras were the perfect accompaniment to this dish. Two big thumbs up! Also a good companion to my meal was the blue algae latte ($6) that I was afraid of trying! I’ve heard people say blue algae lattes can be sour and just funky tasting however Buddha Bowl delivered a delicious smurf latte complete with a really pretty arterial spray on top. It was creamy and coconutty with a hint of subtle sourness from the blue algae, really pleasant stuff! It was served nice and warm too, very comforting – definitely try this.My sister had the banana and coconut French toast ($12) which was unlike any French toast I’ve had before, look how generous they were with the banana! It was delicious and her large cappuccino ($4.50) was good too.We sat outdoors under the sun in the parking lot which sounds bad but the atmosphere was really relaxed, not stinky and quiet enough for conversation to be had. The table we sat at was long and so we were able to do some studying before heading to uni. I had a really relaxing and positive experience at this caf, service is chirpy and welcoming. I’ll be back to try lunch too.Oh by the way, everything is vegetarian. The best feeling is when everything was so flavourful and wholesome you forget you didn’t even have meat

Great vegan and vego food. Lovely selection of drinks. Not too expensive, compared to other cafes in the area. We liked how it was tucked away from the main road. Friendly staff too!

Amazing vegan, healthy options at this cafe! Both of the bowls I tried were amazing – I love the idea of the waffle falafels and they tasted incredible. I don’t usually like kombucha but this one on tap tasted great. The blue algae latte was interesting and a nice change from coffee, would definitely get again. The staff here obviously care a lot about the food they make and the service they provide. Extremely friendly and one of the best cafe experiences I have had. I will definitely be back!!

Came here two times already and it has not disappointed! The first time I had the Granola bowl which was amazing. Just a heads up, serving isn’t the largest but pair it with a drink and it’ll be perfect. I also tried the blue algae latte after a lot of hype but it wasn’t my favourite. Came here a second time and had the Warm Green Brekky Bowl which was quite delicious (but not warm). My sister had the Mushroom Sourdough which was even better! Highly recommend that dish. Also had a Kick Starter smoothie which was delicious (but quite average to be honest). Highly recommend this place! Nice secluded area and friendly staff and management! Visit: @ricenugget on IG – for my vegan eats around Sydney!! 🙂

Had a short trip to Sydney and The Buddha bowl was at the top of the list. Did not disappoint. Partner and I shared the acai bowl, blue algae bowl and the banana French toast. All amazing! Wish this place were closer to home (NZ haha) so I could be a regular. Staff are very friendly and chatty. Recommend to everyone, but I feel like you need to know about this place to find it. Tell everyone you know!

I’m addicted to their Super Green Smoothies… but everything in this cafe is healthy and tastes amazing, and the staff there are awesome too! It’s definitely worth a visit if you haven’t been you won’t be disappointed
