Great little place with good atmosphere. Didnt seem so Greek inside though, more of a Turkish feel. Pleasant background music hat wasnt too loud. The food was really nice. The chicken was really flavourful and succulent. Staff very helpful and friendly.
What a lovely place to have a Fathers Day lunch! Everything was really fresh and tasty, especially the slow-cooked lamb. The halloumi dish was also a highlight for me, and it was my first time trying it. The ambience of the place is great as well, and the owner really explains things well and makes you feel welcome 🙂 Guess I’ll be welcoming myself to more Greek cuisine!
I walk past this beautiful restaurant every day coming home and when date night came up, I insisted we try it out.We made a booking in advance, and good thing. The place filled up quick after our arrival.Once sat, the chef behind the grill came out and greeted us and got us water and drinks. My partner tried an authentic beer, and I a glass of red wine. The waitress gave great service. She was always making sure our glasses were full. Not only that, she was the only girl in the restaurant, so she was in charge of everyone. We decided to get a dip to start, and once we ran out of bread, they were quick to make sure we had a bit more to finish our appetizer. We both got meat skewers which also came with a side salad, and dip and flat bread. It looked like a ton of food, but it was just enough to make us feel content. The food was exceptional. The atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming, and it exceeded every expectation we had.
Great food in here, nice experience. I went to eat here last week. 4 times in total. All times different choices of food. All very tasty. Good ambience
This place. We were looking for a nice place that was licensed for a birthday lunch and WOW!!Peter is the perfect host and made us feel so welcome. The food is fantastic. Enough said.
If you are after traditional greek food (well cypriot greek food) this is the place to go. Located on the bustling King Street, the restaurant has a great vibe, with traditional greek music playing softly in the background and the charcoal grill cooking away. The service is always friendly and fast! The menu offers a variety of delicious meat and vegetable dishes, salads, and dips – from mezze style cooked on the charcoal grill to delicious mixed pocket pitas. The mezze meal per head is what we choose, as you get to sample the restaurant’s best dishes. The Chef aka the Souvlaki Merchant (Peter) has a passion for food and always prepares a special dish or dessert for the day. This week was the sesame crusted haloumi. It blew me away, the sesame crust really complimented the soft haloumi cooked inside, which melted in my mouth! The dessert menu is something else! I have been several times, but always return to the lemon olive oil cheesecake. Hard to get my hands on the recipe, as it is the Chef’s own creation. But of course, the famous loukoumades (drizzled in nutella or honey syrup) are also a favourite. The wine list is also fantastic, my favourite is the Round Two Cab Sav, which goes well with anything on the menu!
Haven’t been here in ages and I don’t know why it’s absolutely amazing and I will definitely becoming a regular the food speaks for itself! Also Peter the owner had time to have a bit of a chat which was nice 🙂
