Actually rating: 2.5Our experience at Mama Rosy’s was a mixed bag. First impressions were good as we were seated in the little courtyard out the back. Entrees were served quite quickly after we ordered; both the polenta chips and the arancini had a crispy exterior encasing a fluffy interior, and weren’t greasy. Then we waited for the mains. And waited. And waited. At the 30 minute mark, we enquired with the waiter who assured us our food would be coming soon. It took another 15 minutes but they finally arrived. The prawn pasta and clam pasta were cooked al dente. Flavours were alright but needed more seasoning. The grilled squid was served whole and looked impressive on the plate. But it turned out to be quite chewy in some parts. Overall, the food was decent but not remarkable enough to offset the long wait.

Service is good, friendly and efficient. We found the food ok but so overpriced for what it was. A plate of gnocchi $25, a Tiramisu $14. Room upstairs very noisy. Wont be rushing back.

Disappointing evening for a birthday celebration. Booked a table in the garden but was told on arrival it was booked out by a group and we had to go upstairs. It was noisy and way too hot. The beers were arriving warm. The starters were delicious Prociutto & Burrata outstanding and the Calamari with prawns and baby octopus delicious, plus the margarita pizza very tasty but that is where it ended. The gnocchi with asparagus was so disappointing. Have had it before so know what it can be like, but seems like they ran out of sauce and just added cream making the dish tasteless and sloppy – inedible and was left by two people in our group. The other pasta dishes were passable but not enjoyed that much. We did complain and to be fair they deducted one dish off the bill, but it was a disappointing evening and not sure I would rush back, especially on a Saturday night when it is very busy.

I absolutely love Mama Rosys!Right from when you walk into the little hidden gem you are greeted and the Italian experience begins. Dont be deceived by how small it looks because they have upstairs and outside depending on how many people you have. The food is authentic Italian with so much flavour. They make the pizzas from scratch and have such a big variety. Feeling extra hungry try the half metre pizza.Honestly if your looking for delicious Italian food and experience I highly recommended coming here!!!

Mama Rosys is small family run Italian restaurant on king street Newtons. The Italian rustic cuisine has a style all of its own, nothing like any other Italian restaurant I have visited in Sydney. They have delicious pastas, and pizzas but I think you cant go past one of their antipasti boards, especially if it has their delicious mozzarella impanata (crammed, shallow fried mozzarella)And their arancini!I also highly recommend chocolate Cannoli Siciliani. It was one of the best cannoli I have ever had, crunch on the outside & the filling was fresh and delicate, not over powering like some others I have tried. The only let down for me is that the day I visited it was a really hot day & the restaurant ventilation was not the best. I would still return on a cooler day.

Nice little place on Newtown road, seated by the front open windows. Good wood fired pizza, good flavours. Friendly staff and good service. Good if you want something filling, full pizza will serve 2-3 people

What it makes this place so delightful is the customer service. Margot is all love and the Bello boy is charming as well. They have a great balance of camaraderie and unforgettable experience. The pizza is espectacular, crunchy, very good flavour, very authentic, great balance in Ingredients. Diabola and the chipis one that we use to eat that now cuz a machine faulty they don’t do it anymore are the best pizzas I ate in Sydney by far. Af least I kind said with out a doubt is the best authentic pizza/flavour great customer experience in Inner west suburbs. Great cool, relax time and Family/ kids friends. And coffee Belisimo
