I would never bother here again. The waiter was friendly but you could tell he was trying to up sell. He also forgot our side order so we said don’t bother after we had finished our mains and it still didn’t arrive. Very average.
The Dendy cafe had been in this spot so long that it seemed impossible to imagine anything different. So I was a little curious re the new milk bar and grill. A lot of the key elements remain the same – a big display cabinet of amazing cakes, an expansive menu and interesting blackboard specials. Our coffee and hot chocolate were fine but very slow, and the service was indifferent. Somewhere to come when convenient but not a destination cafe.
We came here becauae Mary’s had a long queue. I was surprised because the menu is so cheap!!! We got the Prawn Linguine ($20), Mushroom Risotto ($16), Vegie Quinoa Burger ($14), Cola BBQ Ribs ($25) and Share Plate for 2. Portion was massive. There were at least 6 huge prawns in the pasta. The ribs were juicy and tender. We didn’t like the quinoa burger so much as it was plain and dry. The share plate was ordinary, wouldn’t recommend ordering it.
Staff: Indifferent (I almost shut out to make an order) Coffee: burntFrappe: full of artificial stuff Chicken Salad: chicken is too oily, salad is not properly cutBig Breakfast: okayNote: Yes, there are plenty of customers hanging around. But I suspect it’s only because of its perfect location. Conclusion: Run! Run for your life!
This place is a joke. Staff are seriously the worst I’ve ever experienced. Unfriendly, indifferent and completely mess up orders. Both times I’ve been here, the food is less than average. Absolutely nothing to write home about. Also, they serve desserts on a tea – saucer! I understand restaurants wanting to be trendy but this is clearly laziness and ignorance. Dessert tasted like a big lump of sugar so we asked for it to be removed from the bill. The rather agressive waitress who I think might be the manager rolled her eyes, didn’t even apologise and huffed. Wouldn’t ever go back here. Below average food and shocking service.
A convenient location within the Dendy Cinema Complex. Friendly staff and efficient service, unfortunately my hot chocolate lacked flavour!
Really liked it!. Had a really nice Mars bar hot chocolate and fig brandy cheese cake. The hot caramel drink was a bit hit and miss. The waitress was lovely The reviews here are almost comical in how bad they are. One even says the manager punched him in the chest?! Did I go to the same place?? I think give it a go and maybe you’ll like it like I did
