We’ve been seeing this restaurant on our journeys to and from Newtown’s other restaurants and decided to try it out on a pleasant Friday night. The seating was split between tables and chairs, as well as a more traditional turkish seating (ottomans type sofas and a low table) Rather than ordering entrees, we ordered a Imam Bayidli, while I downed a Ayran, also known as Doogh, a concoction of yoghurt, water and salt. The Imam Bayidli was simply stupendous in its taste, with my wife and I fighting over sharing the side serving of Almond Rice. However, having tasted Doogh at Shiraz Authentic Persian Restaurant in the Gold Coast, I must admit the Pasha’s Ayran was strictly OK. The night was topped off with a belly dancer performance in the restaurant. All in all, a treat for the senses!
The food is okay here, and unfortunately doesn’t taste as authentic as other Turkish dishes I’ve tried. The dishes are also quite expensive, but the decor is super nice!
Was able to get a table at the last minute. The belly dancer was impressive. Nice atmosphere but extremely slow service. Had to remind them an hour after we had ordered the food. The food was delicious but the wait severely dampened our appetite. It would also be nice to see a smile from the staff, especially if you seem to be managing the place
Very pleasant experience. Excellent interior. Staff were too busy to attend to our dessert. But all the other food was excellent and a cultural experience. Entre and Mains were commendable. Unfortunately for dessert we crossed the road and resorted another turkish place.
Meh… The food is average at best. They have a nice fit out and the service is good, but the food is really disappointing, meat is dry both times I’ve been here
Stop here on Sunday evening for dinner. The place is very welcoming and has a great feel. Staff was very helpful. We ordered off the vegetarian menu and I would have to say it’s was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. High recommend the stuff zucchini & the stuff eggplant. Defiantly will come back.
Pasha is the best Turkish restaurant I have ever been. Coming from that part of the world I appreciate the food and know when it’s authentic. Pasha has an amazing colorful interior, friendly staff that are always smiling and very attentive. If you go for banquet there is ALOT of food, normally difficult to finish it all. Fresh ingredients and nicely presented. Finished off with a Turkish coffee and Turkish delight. The only negative would be the music and entertainment if you are there to catch up with friends and have a lot to talk about. When the belly dancer comes in , the music will be so loud that you can hardly hear even by screaming. But it’s quite entertaining.
