Authentic Turkish CuisineI visited this restaurant after recommendation from my sister in law who loved the meals. It is located at the end of Newtown (if you coming from the City CBD) in a small restaurant. Though I have never visited Turkey, when I stepped in this restaurant, I felt like I was in Turkey. The Atmosphere is perfect with low Turkish music playing in the background.Service Perfect. I couldnt fault the service. On the Thursday night that we visited, there was one male waiter working. He was very nice and very helpful. It was awesome that he had a accent because it just made the experience more authentic.Food Delicious. Ive previously had Middle Eastern cuisine; however this was different from others. There was so much herbs and flavour in the meat, it was perfect. The lamb was not too hard, or too chewy or too dry, it was just perfect. The rice and yoghurt (depending on what dish you get) complemented it very well.We had this entre which I cannot recall the exact name however I know it was Burek. Man oh Man, what an entre. It was very nice and very light. Value Being in Newtown and near the Sydney CBD, I think for the location the prices are fair. Having said this, for the taste of the food, I think the price is fair.Atmosphere From the moment you step in, its like you are visiting Istanbul. The lighting fixtures stand out the most and with the traditional tea pot all around, makes the atmosphere all the more worthwhile. The restaurant was quite the date we visited it, however I would like to go again on a Saturday night because I can only imagine the atmosphere being lively.Romance if you sit on the cushions, I think it may be a little romantic, however it all depends on the taste of the couple personally I would not take my partner here for a romantic dinner to celebrate e.g. an anniversary. However would come back here any day if it was a casual dinner or lunch.
What I love about this place is how lively it is. Belly dancers, friendly staff, beautiful interior decor and exquisite food, Pashas really delivers the best Turkish food in Newtown. Established since 1975, Pashas has an enormous selection of food and mains that will keep you coming for more. It is truly an unforgettable dining experience!
Loved the authenticity of this place. The drinks & the food & the music, all of it was lovely. Felt like I was back in my trip to turkey. The service was exquisite. I tried the Turkish kenafeh for the first time and it was quite a different experience compared to the Lebanese one.
