This is a great place! Very friendly staff and still not too crowded at the moment… Im sure this bar is going to become popular very quickly! I especially love upstairs with the comfy lounges and Newtown views out the windows.
Adding to the air of mystery, we approached the open door on King street several times on Saturday before their official opening time. It’s dark, cosy, and not unlike Earl’s Juke Joint – you’re hidden away from the King street stretch. Once inside, the usual views of the main drag are blocked out hard by satin curtains, candlelight and some cheeky neons behind the bar.Suspecting PG is still filtering through the new staff by hand, the service was mixed. Initially greeted with warmth and enthusiasm by one bartender and although exceptional at making the named ‘perfect manhattan’, the experience was sullied by the second round. Where staff would usually show courtesy in warning of the more expensive drops, this one didn’t until the drink was poured, also failing to mention happy hour even though it was clear we were open for suggestions. Unhelpful, unfriendly and seemingly uninterested in serving people and understanding the right amount of bitters. We soon left. crumbs-au.com
