Cottage pie, pork and apple pie, lamb and fennel sausage roll. Skip the pork and apple, the filling is quite dry due to the lean cut of meat used so you need to have it with a side of mash or tomato sauce. The cottage pie has a really lovely cheesy- potato mash mixture and the lamb sausage roll also had a great flavour. Definitely recommend. Gotta try the sweet pies next time.11/01: Apple Crumble Pie (3/5 ) the crust was a little thick but the sweetness of the apple filling was perfect for me, not overly sweet and slightly tart. The crumble although nice at first, became a bit dry with the thick crust, so it would have been nice to have some ice cream or cream on the side to accompany it. I suppose this would be one of the ‘lighter’ options on the menu if you’re on a diet. Lol
Friendly service and amazing pies!! The cottage pie is a must have with a nice pour of gravy. The pork and apple pie was okay. Go for the Pumpkin Pie if your a pumpkin pie lover, it also sets the bar pretty high for those who have never tried pumpkin pie before! The Black Forest meringue is also very good, surprisingly not too heavy, but its always good to share.
I got a bunch of pies to try and all had great interesting fillings with great flavours. The lamb one is particularly good. Just as well for the $10+ prices. The casing was a bit disappointing, dense and dry, but at least it holds its structure well so you can eat on the go.
