Dinner at l’EnotecaWent for a middle week dinner with my husband and dog. The place was quite full so we had to wait to be given a table, which the patron had the courtesy to reserve for us. The service is certainly Italian minded, slightly pushy and straight forward, but that s what you expect when entering a venue like l’Enoteca: a true Italian experience. The food was a bit of a let down thou. The melanzane parmigiana were tasty and cooked to perfection but extremely salty. The roast rosemary potatoes missed the rosemary and had a great deal of garlic. I personally like them quite a bit. The carpaccio was tender and dressed with a delicious EVOO but, again, had a massive quantity of salt on it which ruined the delicacy of the dish. We order two glasses of red wine, both of them Italian varieties but produced in Australia. They were very good The big let down of the night was the owners approaching the staff in the middle of the floor, discussing business but addressing their employees with rudeness and attitude. Of course they didn’t speak English but it just happened we could understand and we felt embarrassed by the whole situation.
