I dined at Sean’s Panorama on a Friday evening with a friend. We decided to have the chef’s choice menu which consisted of five courses ($120) where the chef would decide each of the courses based on the blackboard menu for the day.The first course was the corn chowder with oysters. The corn chowder was a generous size and flavoursome. However we were disappointed to find that the chowder only had one oyster when it was advertised on the menu that it would feature two different types of oysters. The second course was the farm plate. It was simple and tasty. My favourite part was the sesame coated egg which had a gooey yolk in the centre.Third course was the sea urchin pasta. It was my first time having sea urchin and I quite enjoyed the flavours. Sea urchin is naturally very salty but I found that the overall dish was a tad too salty for my liking.Fourth course was the roast pork with seasonal vegetables. The pork was tasty and I enjoyed the vegetables. The main was also served with a side of salad which was not necessary and was overpowered with dressing. For the final course which was dessert we had the baked custard with rhubarb. The custard was smooth, creamy and balanced well with the tartness of the rhubarb. The second dessert was a pear sorbet with a macadamia shortbread. It was simple but a refreshing end to the meal.Overall the food was tasty and I left the restaurant feeling full. Unfortunately the price point did not match the food and service that was delivered.
Theres a reason why this small, humble Campbell Parade eating house is dearly-loved by locals (and was named Australias 67th best restaurant in 2017 no biggie). It has everything: a ripper blackboard menu, ocean views, a casual vibe and a good value five-course chefs menu. eatplaylovetravel.com.au
Absolutely impeccable.. I have read the reviews and some people have said its over priced – whatever .. the whole farm to table concept vouches for that .. fresh, seasonal produce delivered from the farm to your table .. what else could you ask for :. And toTop it off the staff were excellent and very helpful !
Cute cosy cafe with nice views of bondi beach but overpriced, terrible food in small portions. Blueberry pancakes were burnt and tasted terrible (don’t know what it was made of, wasn’t wheat flour). Poached eggs and potato rosti tasted fine but were tiny. Tea served lukewarm and strainer was dirty. Coffee was mediocre. Total price was $47 plus surcharge for credit card (inappropriate additional cost in this day and age). Still hungry.
Came here one Sunday after a long time looking forward to visiting. the waitress asked us to look at the inside menu (on a blackboard) which we thought was unusual – until we realised she didn’t think we’d be able to pay! I have an exec role & my friends are all professionals so this was slightly confronting. I ordered borlotti bean ravioli, as did my friend, & the others had fish. The fish dishes were great – the ravioli cold, not very tasty & not much of it. We had a couple of bottles of wine & enjoyed the sun & outdoors – but I did feedback to the staff about the ravioli (they started to tell me my friend had enjoyed it – when I knew she hadn’t!). I emailed afterwards to give some constructive feedback on our dining experience but heard absolutely nothing. We ended up paying $75 each & ended up in a pizza place around the corner an hour later – still hungry. Overall very disappointing & if the feedback had been listened to and/or responded to then that would have made a difference. The fact that it wasn’t goes to show how the owners & staff treat customers who have a real issue. Really poor – I’ll avoid in future.
Without a doubt Sean’s Panorama is one of my favourite restaurants. It’s like dining at your best friend’s house, who also happens to be an insanely good cook. Everything in the menu is seasonal and fresh and the menu is inventive and always satisfying. This is a place where we go to with friends and family and to celebrate because it feels special.
Very cool place that sources most of it’s food from sustainable locations (including Sean’s farm, where possible). The waitress was very knowledgable about the menu. They have 4 different entrees and 4 different mains each night. We had a gnocchi to start and then lamb 3 ways & yellowfin as mains. All of the food was great–just my one bone-in piece of lamb was a little tough and bland compared to the rest of the meal. Definitely recommend coming in for a nice dinner with a great view of the beach.
