They make a mean spiced pumpkin soup! Served with a generous portion of bread, this warm, delicious dish made my day. The bruschetta could have done with some more variety of toppings and lesser vinegar oil but as is, was quite alright. Should have opted to dine here more and try their core menu than its poor cousin (relatively) next door.
Came for lunch with a big group (20+ people). The service was a bit slow given so many people & orders, it took a while for the food to come out. The quality of the food overall was good, the pasta were nice, just right texture, served with a good sauce, and with decent size & amount of seafood/meat/mushrooms. The fish dishes (salmon special & john dory) were cooked well, and generous size fillets. Despite the generous portion sizes, prices are quite steep for lunch in the suburbs, the larger size pastas just under $30, salmon special was $30+. Decor was also a bit dreary. Overall, not really value for money, but without many quality options in the vicinity, it will continue to be a popular choice in the area.
I loved coming to Fourno! My relatives come here a lot and always rave about the food and service – they aren’t wrong!I ordered the seafood risotto (on the specials menu) and I was really surprised with just how much seafood was included. Normally you expect a few pieces of marinara here and there but I was pleasantly surprised to find huge pieces of calamari, huge New Zealand mussels, scallops, prawns and baby octopus; all in a creamy tomato sauce. One of the hard things about risotto is making sure it isn’t too cheesy, too rich, or too creamy – such a perfect balance! The prawn linguine and seafood pizza my guests had was also nice, and they both enjoyed thoroughly. The pizza base was crisp and freshly made onsite in the huge pizza oven. Generous portion sizes all around – true Italian style.Desserts were mousse and a chocolate sundae with crushed nuts on top. I loved the mousse and matched it with a beautiful espresso coffee that had a good crma to it.Prices are fair. Wait staff are always polite. Only thing that lets Fourno down is that it doesn’t quite have the ambience or furnishing to push it into fine-dining experience. At times it is a bit noisy and it overlooks a carpark of the hotel next door – parking can also be difficult depending what time you go there. I honestly believe Fourno’s food is top quality and would gladly come here again anytime.
