Im glad to have found a place that makes food that tastes like my mums cooking. Whatever mistakes they did in previous years (as shown in previous reviewers experience), I did not experience it. During peak hour service, their delivery was no longer than 40 minutes. For me, the food tastes authentically Vietnamese. Ive had the pho noodles, chicken jellyfish salad, vegetable stir fry, beef salad, hot sour soup, fried pork, net spring rolls, pork clay pot. Top favs are net spring rolls (this is hard to find even with Vietnamese restaurants and is probably one of the most underrated spring rolls: take it from me, I was raised in a traditional Vietnamese family of foodies)Pho noodles Pork clay pot Hot and sour soup Im happy to support a local business that may not be a Michelin star restaurant but is definitely authentic in food quality. Hopefully they continue to improve on everything.
I had the beef ball noodle soup and my husband had the clear noodle soup. My husband tasted the clear noodle soup. He said the vermicelli tasted like the towel that hasn’t been washed in a while. There was a lot of msg in my noodle soup as well as a strong tamarind after-taste. I do not recommend this pho shop to anyone. Won’t be going back.
It’s been a cold, wet week and my wife and I were dying for a soupy Viet hit the other night. Having been to Eastwood far too many times recently and deciding Bankstown and Marrickville too far away we drove over to Pho Noodle House in North Strathfield. I’d visited once many, many years ago and had not returned. Upon tasting the food I remembered why.The Pho Tai (raw beef noodle soup) was overwhelmingly salty. The Com Bo Luc Lac (wok tossed cubes of steak with red rice) was also over seasoned, the beef cubes again, far too salty. The best part of our meal were the crispy net spring rolls.Service was lethargic and the atmosphere of the restaurant was a little depressing as it was empty. Abhi’s next door was PACKED. Will not be visiting again any time soon.
Great value for money, yummy food and lovely hosts. My husband and I eat here at least twice every week and have been doing so for a few years now. I LOVE the chicken skewers, the chicken and corn soup, camp fire beef (YUMMY!), the laksa, the beef pho soup…actually all of it!Great food and a great price.
Good!. Got the crabmeat banh canh take away – lots of crabmeat (compared to Flemington..) and delicious! Would get this alonePho is okay, perhaps lacking something to normal pho but not sure whatLike the other reviewer said, I would drive to Cabra/Bankstown/Canley Vale but this is alot closer…
Value for money. One of North Strathfield’s wonderful local restaurant. They are the best in terms of value for money you can get in the area! Good delicious food and lots of it. Will definitely come back.
Its a nice local.. but wouldn’t say its authentic Vietnamese. Decent Asian food with a lot of MSG (I.e. crispy pork ribs). I also had the Pho noodles soup… Look, if I could be bothered to drive all the way to Cabra I would.
