Since Daniel has sold the quality of food has gone down. Takeaway particularly now falls short. On one occasion, prawn skewers were raw, items ordered were missing, agedashi tofu inedible. Wait staff rude at times. Such a shame as it was our favourite Japanese restaurant in the area. Last visit I’m afraid.
Although the menu is limited, the food is great and reasonably priced! It is a lovely little joint especially considering the abundance of Japanese/Korean food in the neighbouring suburb, Strathfield. I always go back to Yume Sushi for the Edamame, Karage chicken and Teriyaki salmon. You can rely on them to provide consistently good food!
We were in the area late one weekend afternoon and Yume Sushi was the only option on that strip of Concord Road for a sit-down meal. The service was friendly but a bit slow given we were the only people dining in the restaurant at the time. This is not a place I would go out of my way to dine at but is fine if you’re hungry and are in the area.
Very disappointing meal. We requested for egg product to be omitted, and specified that this includes the mayonnaise and chilli mayonnaise due to allergies. However, when our sushi platter came, it had chili mayonnaise on it. This is the second time it has happened. When I sent it back, specifying that the whole dish needed to be replaced, due to the cross contamination, the sushi chef reluctantly made us a plate where the maki rolls looked mashed up.Last December, we had the same problem, and the sushi chef repeatedly just replaced the nigiri with the Mayo on it, without changing the rest of the platter and it still had drops of mayonnaise on the other nigiri. Very unacceptable service given that I had emphasised the allergies concern multiple times when ordering. This is the last time we will be coming here.
There’s nothing mind blowing about Yume Sushi in North Strathfield but if you’re after your Sushi fix and you don’t want the Koreanized Japanese food they serve down in Strathfield, Yume Sushi is not a bad alternative. The fish used for sushi and sashimi is reasonably fresh, the salads are refreshing and the dons and noodle soups are warming. There’s no Japanese restaurant competitors in this area so food is a touch pricey but if you live in this area at least you don’t have to travel too far. Personally I prefer the Yume Sushi in Gladesville as their service is better but again, if you’re a local it’s likely you won’t want to drive all that way!
I felt it was pretty standard Japanese food with pricey prices and a decent ambience but there is nothing here that will make me come back
casual local jap with fresh fish however execution could be better with the cooked dishes. pretty good for the price though. Would return for their sushi/sashimi
