Great hotel, great views and great lobby and restaurant. The dinner menu has plenty to chose from and the bar menu has some great wine selections. The breakfast buffet is dissapointing and not at all good value.
LBs Restaurant is situated in North Sydney, and has beautiful Harbour Bridge view. The food was nice overall, however the pork cutlets were overcooked but the waiter saw me struggle with cutting the meat and offered me a steak knife. Compliments to the staff for being attentive!
Not the cheapest but still very nice for dinner, our steak sandwiches were lovely, amazing views from some tables, waiting staff are lovely polite and on the ball, very well trained. Went for the breakfast buffet as well but wasn’t as impressed, bacon was hard and hours old, certainly not worth the $30.. Staff still great though..
Ordered saffron linguini w king prawns, crab, tomato, chilli & lime. Well the main elements were there, except for any semblance of flavour! The pasta was kind of stiff & lifeless, there was no detectable chilli, saffron or line flavours, & the whole dish was completely unseasoned. It was pretty bad. Had a meal at a nearby pub last night which ran rings around it at less than half the price. Confirmed what I thought about most hotel restaurants!
Diana. On a recent visit to Sydney we stayed at The Harbourview Hotel & were blessed with magical views over the harbour for the Australia Day celebrations. Our visit to the restaurant that evening started with a bit of a mix up as we were kept waiting over our booked time for a function to finish. Not impressed! Actually a few minutes would have been OK but we were waiting for half an hour! No apologies whatsoever incidently, Anyway, entrees came fairly quickly after we were eventually seated at a water view front table, Then another half hour wait for our mains which were pretty basic I have to say. I had the fish (think it was snapper if I recall correctly?) No crispy skin, but perfectly cooked for my taste fortunately! Sadly was a little lonely sitting atop a couple of asparagus stems & two pasta pockets. My friend was happy with his steak, commented was perfectly cooked also. What redeemed the evening was the desert tasting plate, just divine with two delectable ice creams, a chocolate pudding- oozing sauce, pavlova melt in the mouth delicious & a cool green lemon & lime julep style concoction, just yum, All this together with that view, redemption with a capital R!
