Decided to visit one of the few local Italian restaurants for my birthday. A bit of research led to this one.It is moderately priced, definitely not cheap but not too expensive. The food is exceptionally fresh. All 3 of us were hungry, so no photos of the main course were taken. We went with truffle and lamb pasta from the special menu and prawn pasta from the normal menu. The black truffle pasta was delicious. For desert, we decided to give the cheese tasting platter a go and it was easily one of the best I’ve had, provided that I don’t have much experience with cheese.

On the entertainment book, we searched Via Alta Espresso – which under the impression, it was going to be cafe food. When we entered, the menu that we were given was actually Italian – pastas and steaks at fine dining prices. Considering that all mains were priced at high $30 and $40 range, we decides to go with their $49 for 2 courses with a glass of wine.We both ordered the gnocchi as entree – very heavy tomato sauce for an overcooked stoggy gnocchiMains – we had salmon – tiny piece of overcooked salmon (we asked for medium) with a load of finely chopped over cooked zucchini and capsicum drenched in oil.We also had the veal saltimbocca – it was 3 of the most tiny/ thinnest slices of veal that I have seen. Being so thin, no guesses that it was overcooked. Underneath was mammoth portions of overcooked beans drenched in a salty, oily brown sauce. Not to mention the white wine tasted flat – as in it felt like they had opened the bottle for a while.Service wasn’t any better – not a single smile on any waiter’s faceOverall we we’re extremely disappointed in this local restaurant with their extremely high prices for the quality and portions of their meals. If you were considering coming here, I would highly recommend you go else where.

My folks have been coming here for years, never disappoints. Barramundi was cooked to perfection, as well as the split prawns. The scotch fillet special was outstanding. Tiramisu was good but didn’t have that coffee kick and richness you would expect.

Had dinner here the other night and it was great! There were 4 of us and we ordered the chefs selection – it definitely didnt disappoint. I dont think there was a bad dish. The pork was fantastic and the pasta dish too, but the brescaola carpaccio was a winner! Well definitely be back soon!

Dined here last night with friends and did a Chef’s shared taster courses. Beautiful food, right from the rustic crusty bread and ending with the smooth and creamy pannacotta and berries. Calamari soooo tender ! Would recommend, great selection of Italian wines. More than enough food for three. Friendly staff and helpful. Vorrei mangiare ancora !!!!

Saw this place on Dimmi’s latest 50% off flash deal and decided to try it out. We ordered the premium sharing menu which composed of 10 different dishes. The food here was either a hit or miss – but their strong suit was definitely their mains. The smokey flavour from the char grilled prawn and the combination of the tender pork with the corn puree was a match made in heaven! I also recommend getting the calamari for entree – the batter was super light and it was seasoned perfectly. The restaurant also had a good atmosphere to it and I think the veranda outside would make it the perfect venue for a small sized birthday party. However on the down side, the wait for the food was just too long.

We had a 530pm booking which was perfect for our 2yo son. It was a lovely birthday dinner. The restaurant decor is quaint and fresh. Food came out at a nice pace. They even had a free kids activity pack for our son as he ordered a kids meal. That kept him entertained. My son had a kids penne nepoletana and he finished it way before we finished our entrees! That’s how much he loved it! And he ate half my homemade pappadelle! Hubby had a sirloin steak which was slightly too well done for his liking but everything else was excellent. Service good. All in all we had a great night out and a lovely local restaurant.
