Dish of the night was the scallop carpaccio (which I now believe they have taken off the menu). Fresh and flavoured perfectly with the cheese. The crab risotto was also beautiful as a main and steak was cooked perfectly. Only gripe would be the table space and ambience! A 2 person table is definitely not big enough for 2 people. Lucky we sat next to a window because the waitress had to put our glasses of water on the windowsill. We also dined on the same night as a corporate function. Made it impossible to talk to my partner. Other than that, would come back for the food!
This restaurant is trying to be Italian but its not really….. paying for bread, olio and balsamic..no…adding salt to the balsamic..no…using one clover balsamic instead of high quality three clover…no…not putting balsamic on the brushetta..or oilio for that matter….no….what is this problem with oil and balsamic at this place ? Always remember it’s the little things that matter…
Water front view with good settings.I ordered a gnocchi which was really nice and soft. However, the service was sooooo slow. It was lunch time with 3 to 4 tables and I waited for 30 to 40mins for 2 pastas. Waiters were not too attentive and couldn’t spot me raising hand for service (when there were only 4 tables……). I still haven’t found any similar level Italian restaurant in the area but will make sure I have sufficient time next time.
I came here for dinner with my partner and Aunty and Uncle. I amUsually quite hesitant to order pasta at restaurants as I am Italian and nothing quite tastes as good as home cooked, but I am happy to say the pasta here was incredible! We tried an array of starters including the antipasto, calamari, arancini. For mains my uncle and I ordered the seafood pasta, which was incredible! The flavour was phenomenal. My partner ordered the steak and he was really happy with his meal as well. I will definitely be back.

First time to dine at il lago but will be back many times for sure. Every dish we ordered was first class. The lemonchello cured ocean trout was to die for. Could not recommend a better restaurant in the hills district. It’s amidst to go to. Lakeside and kid friendly with outdoor dinning. Simply awesome. Thanks Il Lago. Staff were great as well.
