Paddington NSW is blessed with its countless authentic Italian restaurants. Some more casual, some more towards fine dining like this place. Amongst all, I give this place my award. Delicious house made bread/ focaccia puts you in a great mood to start. Pasta is fresh, delicate and complex. Good selection of your primi and secondi, of course. Great place for a date or special occasions.
The Cipri restaurant was recommended to us by a friend. Like any other Italian restaurants there were a lot of tables tightly jammed in the room. We arrived earlier and it was nice and quiet and we could have a conversation with our friends. By 8 pm the restaurant was full. It started being louder and we could hardly hear each other. The food was great so for the next couple of hours we enjoyed eating. The stuffed zucchini flowers, figs wrapped in prosciutto and carpaccio with quail eggs were as good as they sound. T-bone for 2 was just the right size to share. I was surprised the dessert menu wasn’t as great as you would expect in an Italian restaurant. After some hesitation I decided on Tiramisu and to my surprise it wasn’t your traditional Tiramisu. It had a modern touch I would say, with the crispy sugar crumbs, small meringues and chocolate on the top. Can’t say I loved it.To summarise the evening it was a pleasant surprise, my only suggestion is for the waiters, who were only males (and good looking ones). When you work in the food industry make sure you control your temper. The customers are always right and they don’t need to know you have been exhausted running around serving tables all day.
Went with a large group of people, really good hospitality. Nice friendly staff. Beautiful food, was so delicious! The menu had such a nice selection, lots of foods and dishes I have never tried, but lots of dishes caught my eye. Pretty expensive but it was a nice flash restaurant so I didn’t expect cheap prices. Didn’t have too much for vegetarians either, and had lots of seafood within the menu, lovely little restaurant though.
Cipri Italian Stall at the William Street Market generated road blockage. The staff are energetic and engaging. I tried a porchetta salad and it was so good on a warm Spring day. The salad contained generous boccocini cheese, Kale, chickpea and fresh beans. I asked for some red cabbage slaw and the girls happily accommodated my request. It was an excellent salad for $10 and people kept on asking me where I got it from! Keep up the good work!! weekendnotes.com
Four of us enjoyed a superb dinner last week with excellent service .The gnocciand buffalo mozzarella entrees were both delicious. The sucklingpig and the slow roasted lamb shoulder were both outstanding. The attention by Joe Cipriadded to our enjoyment.
I love this restaurant, quality food and exceptional service. For me this is the best Italian restaurant in Sydney. A wonderful place to indulge.
Don’t be fooled by first impressions. Great food, good wine list and knowledgeable waiters. Highly recommended.
