After some soul searching, trying to find a restaurant to try out in Sydney, one very late weekday, we decided to settle on Cipris in Paddington as one of our friends suggested it. They said it was a quiet and intimate Italian restaurant between the residential area of Paddington. We ordered some bread & warmed olives to start, as well as a carpaccio with quail eggs to follow. The carpaccio was very nice, a good start to open up my palette. My boyfriend and I each ordered a different pasta dish to try out. I had the buckwheat strozzapreti with porcini mushrooms and asparagus. I generally do not like strozzapreti pasta but was willing to try this out. The dish was abit oily perhaps from the porcini mushrooms or the truffled pangrattato, I didnt finish my meal as the pasta itself was very filling. My boyfriend had the gnocchetti Sardi and he really enjoyed it finishing off his plate. We finished our meals with tres sorbeti for dessert. It was a lovely Italian dinner, as the restaurant wasnt too busy or crowded and spacious enough for couples to sit on their own and have a conversation.
