The calamari at The Grand National used to be a revelation; pan fried and seasoned perfectly – I’d order it as a main. Just returned after a year or so away and now it’s deep fried and looks and tastes like something from the local fish n’ chip takeaway. Don’t mess with the classics!
This is my favourite pub in Paddington because of its atmosphere. Hidden away from the busy Oxford Street it is great place to relax or celebrate for the locals. The food is pretty good and the specials quite attractive. The 2-for-1 rump steaks on Tuesdays come with a sauce and side of your choice, and are great value.
