While I haven’t eaten in here, I’ve ordered takeaway from here, and it’s not terrible. The food came exactly when it said it would, and the delivery man was quite friendly and polite.I ordered the red duck curry, crispy skin pork belly with Chinese broccoli, squid salad, roti, and a small coconut rice. The red duck curry wasn’t as good as I’d hoped, the curry itself was on the mild side, even though I selected medium level of spiciness, and the duck pieces had a strong duck taste, like when it’s still raw. The crispy skin pork belly, on the other hand, was delicious, beautifully favoured, crispy and crunchy, and had a strong level of chilly. The squid salad was okay, the salad itself was surprisingly delicious, and the sauce tasted well-balanced and complimented the salad nicely, but the pieces of squid could have been smaller; they had been cut into rather big whole chunks. I’ve never had coconut rice before, so I don’t really have anything to compare it to, but it was a little wet and mushy, and a bit too sweet for me. The roti was quite standard, not the fluffiest, but the pastry was still delicious.Service was quite prompt and friendly, I got a text saying my food would be delivered at 19.29 and the doorbell rang at exactly 19.27. I wish they’d deliver disposable cutlery with the food though, as, for me, the idea of getting takeaway in the first place is because I’m feeling lazy and don’t want to wash up; I just want to eat my food and then throw away all the containers without having to worry about washing, but without plastic cutlery, this defeats the purpose a little; this is just my lazy opinion though.I paid about $54 for my meal for two, and it was very filling, more than I’d anticipated. Although not the most mouthwatering meal, it wasn’t terrible as far as takeaway goes, but there is definitely room for improvement. Perhaps I should try dining in once, just to see the difference.TIP: if you’re getting takeaway and you do really want disposable cutlery, maybe write it in the comments section on your order and they’ll give you some. knifeforknchopsticks.com
We traveled from Blacktown to Padstow to join friend for dinner at ‘I Thai’ The service was good, the food very tasty and the price per head ($40 including tip) was excellent. Than you I Thai.
My family and i always use to come here but certainly do not anymore. We usually always use to come here for lunch and the girl that always was there to serve us was very nice, polite and attentive. But after our last visit to this resturant im not sure if shes the manager or not but this lady was very loud and overbearing. Shouting at us or at others and mixing up our orders. But on another note the food was always consistent when we first came here but the food started slacking in the more recent visits.
Went here for the lunch special, I ordered the chilli jam noodles with chicken. Unfortunately the flat noodles didn’t taste as good as the egg noodles that other restaurants normally put in. The dish was OK, missing that wow this is yum factor.
Took the family there the first time tonight, turned out to be perhaps the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in my life. I mean, the rest of the staff were pretty friendly, however there was this one lady who seemed to be the manager who ruined the whole evening – shouting at us for changing table with another staff member’s permission, telling me off for merely taking a look at the content of the fridge, trying to make a decision on what drinks to get for the kids. Honestly, the food was pretty tasty, the whole place would’ve been completely different without her.
Food is fine but they have no concern for customer comfort. Refused to turn on heater on a 10 degree night. Manageress showed me her own cold hands to indicate that as she was cold we too should just put up with freezing. We used to go regularly but will never go back.
Noisy and rude service – top tip avoid iThai Padstow. Took my family here the other night and we could barely hear each other over the loud buses that stop and idle for 20mins at a time right i front of the restaurant. Noise was bad enough but we couldn’t work out what was worse the fumes from the buses or the cigarette smoke from all the people waiting at the bus. Then we made the serious error of pushing table in so the kids could be comfortable and were told by direct and abrupt owner that we are not to move the tables and could we put them back.Last straw we left before our food and won’t be back. Went up the road to other Thai restaurant in Padstow and had a great night, friendly service and better food. Our top tip….avoid iThai padstow.
