Food was average.I was a bit disappointed that this place didn’t have ramen on the menu.Hidden away at the very end of a lane way off the end of the strip of cafes and restaurants on Church Street, this place can easily be accessed via public transport or walking.Prices were okay but we came during lunch the lady didn’t offer us the lunch specials.Service was okay but the waitress wasn’t very friendly or welcoming which was a bit of a turn off.Would rather go to Mikazuki for a good Japanese feed in the area.
My partner and I thought to give this place a try as a nice little Friday end of work week meal. We ordered the gyoza, popcorn chicken, large sashimi, and the aburi sushi. Sadly, the glacial speed of service really made the experience not very enjoyable. The popcorn chicken and gyoza were forgettable, I wouldnt recommend them. When our sashimi finally arrived after 50 minutes, the highlight was definitely the scampi: neither of us normally like scampi sashimi but this one was great (probably somewhat influenced by how ravenous and disappointed we were). The salmon and salmon belly were also fresher and nicer than we expected. Our meal ended with the aburi, and it was decent, if a bit plain (just a few different types of seafood with the same sauce/topping). Overall, food was mediocre and the service took way too long.
