Came here with some friends for dinner and overall the experience was enjoyable. Their online booking system is easy to use (make sure you book as they do get busy). The food was well presented and the portions were decent for tapas. We loved all of the food. My favourites were the vegan paella, the churros and the haloumi. The only negative is the price as it is quite steep for tapas. I would come here again but only for a special occasion.
Tapas is expensive and underwhelming. Small portion sizes and the dishes were of varying quality. We enjoyed the paella and polenta chips, but the beef ribs and arancini was subpar. We spent $100 and still left hungry. Service was also disappointing, very little attention was paid to us. The atmosphere was very loud as well which made it very hard to enjoy the meal. Their payment system was also broken when we tried to pay, and we had to wait for the waiter to manually calculate our meal on his iPhone
The union is quietly one of Penrith’s best restaurants. The first time I went was with a larger table and in addition to the food being great the service was warm, genuine and attentive. Upon going a second time with just one friend I was again greeted by great food and lovely staff, even on a busy Friday night. Delicious, unpretentious food that’s made with love!
We celebrated my daughters birthday at The Union last night and we loved it! The customer service, the ambience, the food was terrific! There was so much food in one plate! Thanks Celia and James!
Good food, nice flavour combinations and very friendly staff! The decor is a nice rustic look so the place has a great vibe to it. Only real negative is to your bank. I feel like the price is a bit steep per what you get per plate (does that even make sense). So I wouldn’t return for value. Happy to pay the price if it’s worth it but really for the size or for the effort put in it is not worth the price.
This is my first time at The Union. A friend recommended that I try here. Great decor – very urban but still inviting. Great choices on the menu and tapas upstairs. The Union is right in the centre of Penrith with parking behind. Everything is reasonably priced. The coffee is great and all served by happy staff who give great service. I’ll definitely be coming back.
The best juice I have ever had!!! It was like the texture of a Slurpee but with watermelon and passionfruit. Incredibly refreshing! Service was still with a smile at 2pm in the afternoon.
