The Big Brekky was Okay, but not the best. The coffee was tasteful although nothing special. I do although think the general atmosphere of this cafe is very nice and helps uplift its flaws. Again, its great but not the best.

Sausage and egg brekkie roll tasted like curry (yuck at breakfast time!) and had old rocket leaves on it. Fairly average coffee too. Won’t be returning as the meal was fairly uninspired. It’s pretty easy to make a sausage and egg roll surely? $10 price tag is pretty standard.
Two things are important for a pleasurable weekend brunch… Coffee and Bacon & Eggs! Sadly the Campos Coffee is a miss, but the big brekkie at the Big Brekky is a hit. This is a good local cafe, which attracts everyone from families to hipsters, oldies to teens, which is a barometre of its success and following. There is loads of space for you to sit and watch the world go by, and it is kid friendly with a grassed seating area out the back, but the kids toys look very tired, unhygienic, and an unnecessary touch, they are best to spend the money on better quality outdoor table and seating, as the tables sway and the chairs very wobbly. We had the house speciality the ‘Big Brekkie’, it was a huge portion of bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, homemade chutney, and yummy sourdough, I really enjoyed it and nothing was too much to ask of the staff, who where friendly, and our food came out very quickly. There are lots of fresh juice options also, and I can’t fault apple, ginger and mint. All the food that came out of the busy kitchen looked great, the only downfall was the coffee, which was a shocker as it is Campos, I am not sure what is going on here but the coffee did not seem right, and consistent compared to all the other cafes I frequent that serves Campos. I have been to Big Brekkie over the years and the biggest issue is the inconsistency of the coffee. Campos is a very recognisable brand, it has an image and a consistency (like McDonalds) that you are meant to be guaranteed across any cafe outlet that serves Campos. I can only recommend that Big Brekkie get this right, as coffee is king in the InnerWest, if you stuff this up, your customers will not come back. I give it 5/5 as overall it is a safe bet to take your friends for a good fry up after a night out on the town, and atmosphere is pleasurable, not stuffy and uncomfortable like so many hispter cafes with their milk creates for seats and tiny tables!
Waiting. My group was escorted to the outside area where we were quickly forgotten about and had to remind someone that we hadn’t even been given menus yet. Food is decent, but that doesn’t excuse the 1 hour wait time it took to receive it.
Have been here a few times but not for a while. The service is pretty good and food tastes good there were just a few disappointments. My partner specifically asked for runny eggs and was given hard boiled and I found my meal (rye/ sourdough? With avacado, eggs and bacon) really difficult to eat as all 3 items were placed on plate seperately and not prepared (things kept falling off plate when I tried). Not sure if I’d go back.
