An interesting cosy cafe which a friend had recommended to me. It is a vegan cafe dishing up South Asian food. Most people who know me would say I like eating meat so trying vegan was not always my first choice but so glad I did! Entered the cafe and was immediately seated and water brought out. The lady took my drink order of a Mocha and asked if soy was okay. It slipped my mind that they wouldnt do normal milk as its vegan. Quickly scanned my milk options and went with coconut milk. Other options included almond milk and oats milk. It wasnt as sweet as I normally have it but still tasted nice. The coffee is by Di Stefano. Decided on a plate of Mushroom And Tofu Momo which are dumplings. It was served with a slightly spicy sesame and tomato chutney. Well made dumplings, they had the right ratio of filling to pastry. Continued on with the Teriyaki Silken Tofu Salad which apart from being vegan was also gluten free! Its all about the texture and flavour here. The rice, quinoa, and fried tofu as a great crunch, tomato and cauliflower are a nice foil, and the dressing was delicious. The raisins add a touch of sweetness.Would try it again as it opened up my eyes about meatless dishes and how much flavour you can pack into a dish.
My bf and I are not vegan but were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed it. We had the vegan lamb curry, protein burger and the prawn and chive momo (dumplings). So good! Our two vegan friends also enjoyed the food. Love that they are a cafe open for dinner as well. Quick service too. Highly recommend!
I (vegan) went with my vegetarian hubby after a night shift, so I was famished. We shared the chips with aioli, healthy lentil wrap and breakfast tacos. ZOMG!!! Everything was so beautifully spiced and flavoursome. I think this would even convert my omni friends and family. Absolutely delicious, and beautifully friendly staff. We will definitely be regulars, well worth the half hour drive for us
Cute little cafe not far from the station. Had the breakfast tacos which were great. Coffee was also nice, with a vast array of different milks to choose from. Omni friend had the healthy lentil wrap which definitely enjoyed!Service was friendly and portion sizes were fair for the price.
Amazing vegan food in a friendly setting. Attentive staff eager to make your food experience wonderful. Love this Petersham cafe! cantfault this joint. An inner west gem.
