Had a nice catch up over dinner here with a friend and we ordered the traditional skewers, salad & potatoes to share. All the food are good to share & tasty. Both the beef and chicken skewers are tender & potatoes was delicious with a crunchy outside. Nice & casual place in the heart of little Portugal.
Had dinner on a weeknight as Frango’s was completely full. The food was a little slow as there was only one waiter, but the food itself was really tasty. The BBQ baby octopus was delicious and the meat was cooked very well. If it just came a little sooner, I would have rated them a bit higher because of the quality of the food! lapetitebobo.com
Dined here on a Monday night as we had a voucher deal for two that included a bottle of red (or Sangria) with starters and a shareable main. We weren’t expecting much but we were quite happy with the food here. The wine we had tasted great & so did the chorizo starter, and we were both pretty happy with our main which was a vertical chicken & beef char-grilled skewer, quite delicious and juicy.. We were definitely quite full after all that meat.The only thing that could improve with this place is the interiors of the restaurant, perhaps dimming the lights a bit more and changing the restaurant music which was just old 80’s music from the radio, sort of gave this place a dated feel.. The manager of this place was also not very smiley, but still efficient with service. Still a good place though for a Portuguese feast at a great price (even without a voucher!)
Dinner last night at Costa do Sol was quite nice both my partner and i particularly liked the divine Portuguese sausage for entre. Sophie had the chicken for main and it was very good however my beef was a bit tough and only had a medium or well done option. It was very tasty though and so was the sauce that came with it. Sadly the wine came already opened and i suspect the $32 bottle of Portuguese wine had been filled with the house wine in the kitchen. Perhaps my assumption is wrong but why would any restaurant open a wine bottle out of site of the customer? I would give another chance but there are plenty of Portuguese restaurants in Petersham so……. i would expect to be shown my wine being opened next time.A pleasant place for dinner but the waiter (owner?) seemed very abrupt and stressed when we arrived, maybe he should stay out the back and employ someone who can smile a bit more. This place just needs to work on a few things, perhaps 20 odd years in business has led them to be a little blas about the little things like grubby looking sauce bottles and old sad cutlery. And i hate having waiters take my salad plates away when it still has salad on it i intended on eating…..
Do not waste your money. Dont waste your money,we had a dinner at this place,the guy was so stressed out dealing with customers specially does who had the voucher.He brought us a bottle of wine which was already open before in the kitchen,first impression was not so good,food was average and customer service absolutely disappointing.
