If Frango started in 1992, they were the new kid on the Portuguese block when I was hanging around Petersham, but they seem to have outlasted everyone. They really go through lots of proper Portuguese chicken and the burgers have much thicker and tastier chicken than Oporto. The ordering is a chaotic madhouse though and I saw a fight between a drunk guy (probably his fault) and a Portuguese guy who might have thought it was like the old days when Portuguese got served first. Still, it was the best Portuguese chicken Ive had since Timor-Leste.

The service I got was ok, they were not doing cartwheels and cheers when I walked in but they were also not rude, some of the people behind the counter certainly did look grumpy but the young lady that served me was all smiles.Ordering and paying could do with some refinement, it was pretty confusing where to go and what to do after ordering with people just standing everywhere.Onto the food, I guess their other food must be amazing to justify the rating and people carrying on about the place, as the Portuguese chicken burger was not only nowhere near as hot and tasty as others I’ve had it also had much less chicken. I don’t get the fascination with the chilli sauce, had the consistency of sweet thai chilli and certainly lacking in punch. The fries are not even worth mentioning. volvodriver.com

When we were also trying to pay for our meal they made us wait. We were literally standing there for 5 minutes watching them just talk to eachother and try to look busy. We were passed on from staff to staff as no one wanted to take our bill. Finally one lady took our payment but in a very rude manner. Despite the food tasting good, all the little factors adds up and therefore made our experience here one of the worst. Would only recommend to go to the Frangos in Bella Vista and Smithfield as i have only had pleasant experiences there.
Food was good but service wasn’t.Asked the chick behind the counter for 4 Portuguese burgers with chilli and mayo with chips and we see her just putting the burgers in a bag.Asked again for chips and she looked annoyed and then asked if we wanted chilli and mayo on the burgers?!Totally poor listening skills.Would go back for the food but would want to be served by someone else.
can always rely on this place for some tasty, gourmet chicken burgers. I absolutely love their famous chilli mayo sauce. they are always packed and youre lucky to get a seat. their fries are also so tasty; and are the thin, shoestring style.
