This place is phenomenal! I am so grateful that somebody cancelled their booking last minute and we were first on the just in case list. Do book ahead of time if planning on dining here. I personally enjoyed every dish… the oysters, ocean trout, pork bun, drinks, kingfish, tuna, beef tartare, chicken, mash, prawns and the mocha dessert. Must tries are the pork buns (I was going to give this a pass as you can get this in the west but do not go without trying) and the beef tartare!!! Mash was sooooo delicious and complimented the wagyu and prawns perfectly. Thank you cho cho san for your amazing hospitality – from the service to the food and the coat hangers.

Heard about this place for a long time, finally found the occasion to pay a visit here! The food was really amazing, we really liked the eggplant miso stick and the tartare. The okonomiyaki was so fluffy and delicious. Service was great and friendly as well! Definitely recommend this place if you love fusion type cuisine!

Loved coming here. Highlight dishes were the beef tartare, black sesame mochi ice cream and kingfish/ocean trout/tuna sashimi. I really liked the DIY nori rolls too, theyre were fun to make, and 4 different sauces to add into. Staff were very friendly and accommodating for anything you need, they provided complimentary seafood and seaweed and avocado dip.

Fabulous food, top notch drinks including a Japanese take on the Negroni. Great vibe and attentive service to boot, despite a full restaurant. Recommend the banquet.

Got too caught up in the experience that I forgot to take photos of the food to share. Having been here before my expectations were high and they did not disappoint. The spicy udon (Japanese bologna) was tasty as always but the highlight was the prawns buttery and melted in your mouth. The atmosphere was buzzing but service itself wasnt fantastic and you felt crammed in (although maybe it is going for the authentic Japanese experience), still the food itself gives this place a high rating and I would recommend!!

I love discoursing new Japanese restaurants to try, Cho Cho San is situated in Potts Points and offers modern Japanese cuisine. Definitely would be back to try more delicious food.

Food: I had such high expectations because of such reviews but it was so so for me. I mean, it was good but not wow. I did enjoy all the raw fish fishes, particularly liked the stuffed squid and dessert.Service: this is what made me give 3/5 instead of 4/5. The waiter who served us was not polite initially, didnt give us attention. While ordering, we ordered our 5/8 dish and he told us hey man I think thats enough – Im sorry, we know our eating capability and weve seen the dish sizes…that did not impress us at all and on top of what we ordered, we ordered 2 sets of desserts and finished everything. We were very close to telling the manager as we were not impressed.
