This is the absolute best hidden coffee gem in the Cross. Annette makes a great coffee – strong, hot and big enough to hit the spot. This is where the non-hipster locals and the tourists who are lucky enough to find out about it go. It’s a little tricky to find because there is almost no signage, but basically, it is straight in front of the end of the walkway that comes from Harris Farm. But, now that I know where it is, I actually travel 20 mins (past probably 100 other cafes) at least once a week to get my fix of Annette’s coffee.Oh, and if you have a few minutes to wait while Annette serves people, she also makes the best toasted sandwich in town – I am salivating just typing about it!
One of Sydney’s hidden gems, Annette’s recipe for sandwiches is basic – they’re simple, but they’re mighty tasty, and made with love.Take a break from your traditional hipster lunch of smashed avo with kale and quinoa, and enjoy a delicious HCT toasted sandwich that comes with a good coffee and a laugh with the charming owner, who knows all the locals. cuisinemonsters.com
