If you’re into healthy, delicious (+ fermented) food made with love and ruthless attention to quality and detail you must go here. Housemade kombucha, jun, kimchi, omg! Even the teas are spectacular. You must try the kimchi toastie. Not to mention wonderful service and great conversations with Laurie.One of my favourite cafes in the entire world.

Loved this new cafe in LanKelly Place in Potts Point. The Orwells team have really transformed this place into a great eating and meeting place. Coffee is a science to them and they have a great eye for detail and making sure you are well taken care of.
Orwells is a cosy cafe that benefits from the spillover from the perpetually buzzing Room 10 opposite. We didn’t need to wait long for a table for 2. My skim cappuccino was great, with a smooth and mellow flavour. Very drinkable. I ordered the 63 degree eggs on rye toast. The eggs were perfectly cooked and there was lots of yolkp0rn action going on. The plate came with some housemade pickles which was a nice touch. My friend ordered the chicken, mango and quinoa salad which was a lovely combination of tropical flavours. A++ for the super friendly and warm staff. This would be my local if I lived in the neighborhood.
Went there today to check it out as I walked past a couple of weeks ago… What a nice surprise! Service was great, not only friendly and happy but also very helpful about choosing the right thing for you from the menu. The smoothie was sooo good! Finally a real smothie that is not swettened with honey or ice cream! Real fruit ans really good for you. Salad was beatiful, just the right amount of every ingredient.. So happy!
Always a great experience at Orwells. You really feel like youre catching up with an old friend each time Laurie greets you with a big smile! My favourite cafe in Sydney.
