The absolute pits. After Nigel, the original owner, departed and the place closed for a while it was reopened by some uber rude snot, who treats his staff with contempt and expects them to do the same to customers. The food is awful, as are the staff. No longer open for dinner.
How can a establishment not even warrant a 1??? Shame it’s a mandatory input If you do not like customer service maybe change your career! The owner of this place could not be more rude if he tried. I could not comment on the food as I walked out after my first sip of coffee! #notworthavisit #notworthasecondchance#changeyourcareer
We stopped by for some takeaway coffee and were surprised at how unwelcoming the staff were. No smiles, no pleasantries, just robotic motions and dour expressions from everyone. A stark difference to other cafes nearby that we’ve visited. I’m not a fan of the coffee either as the beans were over roasted though the drink mellowed out as it cooled.
This place is very ordinary and undeserving of it’s prime location in Potts Point. Although, that’s probably the only reason it’s still in business. While it looks ok to the eye, don’t be fooled. Their menu is uninspired and their food just isn’t good enough to serve to paying customers. Unless you’re a bad cook, you could make something better yourself at home. I got the tomato, basil & ricotta on toast thinking ‘how could I go wrong?’ The toast was overcooked and tasted as though it has been reheated before serving giving it that dry and crunchy taste. Simply not good enough in this day and age. My friend had the Bircher Muesli and could only eat the fruit on top and had to load it up with honey. While the food wasn’t great, in comparison to the service it was amazing. The waiters had so much attitude and clearly didn’t want to be there. I understand it was a Saturday morning and things can get busy, but it is the easiest job to greet people with a smile and make them feel welcome. There are places all over town with amazing staff like this, so it is not hard. The only reason I’m not giving it a 1.5 out of 5 is because we were seated pretty quickly, you can split the bill, and the ambience itself was pleasant. The service needs to improve before I think about coming back.
I have often walked past this restaurant over the years as it was always full when ever I was wanting breakfast or a meal, but Sunday morning walking past to another place we decided to finally have breakfast here. We had the buttermilk pancake – not to my palate (not a pear person)but my partner loved it and the pear texture and poaching colour and the spice. The yoghurt sorbet balanced the sweetness very well. We both had the sugar-cured salmon which was a nice change to smoked salmon. Will be back to try other meals. The service was prompt, professional and welcoming.
Disappointing breakfast with miserable service. Coffee ok, food was average to poor. Solid poached eggs on over cooked toast. We could have tolerated this bit the gentleman serving was a complete rude misery.
Breakfast is average, service appauling. I went for breakfast here this morning and had some average coffee and scrambled eggs. Food is okay, nothing special. What inspired me to write this review however was the absolutely awful service. The waiter gave us the wrong bill not once but twice, inclusive of two peoples credit cards which we had to search the restaurant for to give the right table the right bill because the waiter didn’t know what was going on. What blew me away was an older gentleman who looked like the owner, he was so rude to his staff in front of patrons and made me want to walk out mid meal! At one point he threw a highlighter at a staff member in a rage knowing very well I was standing there watching the whole thing. I never write bad reviews, but I was absolutely horrified by not only the service but observing how badly the staff were treated in front of customers
