This is the highest quality food and 5 stars. Perhaps for the ave joe they might be more use to in ur face standard bfast flavours. The amazement of calla is in the subtlety, super high quality ingredients and clean and creative combinations.

The food and the service here are absolutely amazing! It’s not your basic breakfast or lunch food thats found at all cafes and restaurants. It’s adventurous, exciting and really delicious! If you want to take your palette on a journey through flavour, you really need to visit this place. We drive all the way from Castle Hill to eat here. Definitely worth the visit. Highly recommend it.The salmon terrine, the breakfast risotto, the truffle pasta and the breakfast brulee are mouthwatering. The brulee is perfectly balanced, not sweet and not savoury, I get it every single time as a side dish to our mains. Do yourself a favour and try their food and judge it for yourself. I only just started using Zomato, my reviews are predominantly on TripAdvisor and Google.

So Calla, to make a short story shorter – it’s all hidden and no gem 🙂 okay maybe that was a bit harsh but it does have a nice ring to it no? So the savoury dishes were pretty good, there’s some interesting ideas here that made us revisit the humble bruschetta and hash. The sweet on the other hand was just off, the rhubarb, pear and “bird food” loved it but the brûlée itself we couldn’t see being a breakfast thing. It was just a lot of sweet on sweet on sweet and yes while it’s what a brûlée is, it just wasn’t breakfast – maybe a breakfast bread and butter instead?Look we’d prefer to give this place a 3.5 but sadly it’s still closer to 3 and not a 4.Maybe we’ll come back for a lunch? Not soon but it’s on the list of “why not try again?”.
