Staff are so rude here! The foods not great either. Wouldnt recommend coming here. The congee was bland, pho wasnt tasty either. Would not recommend going there unless you are looking for hangover food or everything else is closed and its 3am
I have been going here frequently since it first opened. Can I start with saying it serves the best Laksa I have had in Sydney visited last week with 4 others. Food was amazing as expected! I ordered the salmon sashimi (was a little too thinly cut but delicious none the less – a wasabi sauce would have been nice with it) I also had the Angus beef dish without the noodles. It was fresh and delicious! (I was on a diet and they accommodated accordingly – hence no noodles) Service is very good and our waitress made it easy and was very polite and attentive. Will continue going back! I love you Fat Noodle!
We come here for dinner whenever we go to see a show in Lyric theatre, the Star casino because of my partner who is a big fan of it. But I always thought dishes are over priced and the service can be better. Yesterday would be my last visit to this restaurant as the service was appalling and a cockroach was crawling around our table. I was horrified with it. A rude waitress who first faces customers but treated them (includes us) waiting in line like worse than kindergarten kids to control the line. My partner’s dish came almost when I finished mine about 15 minutes later. These are not acceptable in modern Australian restaurant scene. Not happy.
Really quick service, convenient and reasonably priced. The dishes were interesting and tasty, but nothing really mind-blowing. We ordered the salt and pepper tofu, mushroom noodles and crab rice paper rolls.
Really love the beef pho! It’s so tasty with the slice of Angus beef and briskets, I like the rice noodle with chilli sauce. The Hananese chicken seems nice too.
A bloody shocker. Yes, I’ve been a huge fan of Luke Nguyen and Luke now has the dubious distinction of serving me an excellent (Red Lantern) and a terrible meal (Fat Noodle) ! Unfortunately, its the poor experience that I will remember and talk about. Thats the way it is.Luke, why on earth do you associate yourself with an establishment that serves the Mee Goreng and Hainanese Chicken that you do at Fat Noodle ? A Mee Goreng thats predominant flavour is of sweet tomatoes and is served pink ?!! Disgusting, my friend. It was disgusting. Yes, we did give feedback to the charming young man who waited on us.Wed normally have sent back a dish this bad to the kitchen (and get a refund) but it wasnt worth our while. Our first and LAST time at Fat Noodle and maybe at any of your establishments. Why am I angered at this experience ? Let me tell you – it wasnt a minor balls up – it was a MAJOR balls up ! There is an expectation when one spends at a noted establishment. AND YOU FAILED US ! The Hainanese Chicken Rice – I make better at home in under an hour ! Where were any of those fab flavours one comes to expect in an HCR ?The starters were the redeeming feature – Tofu, Shaking Beef and Squid is what we had. Thanks to the bottle of Pinot Grigio, the pain of your mains were ever so slightly numbed. But we remain scarred forever and you have disappointed us hugely. We were at FN last night (4/11 for dinner). Bosco was the charming young man who waited on us.
I have eaten here a couple times but never thought it was worthy of a review. This time, it exceeded all expectations hence the 4 star rating. The only reason why I’m not giving a 5 is because the waiter asked us to pay the bill before our food came out because it is a new policy. I asked the waiter if we could pay later as my partner was drinking and wanted to order more drinks to avoid confusion, but she was hesitant so we just paid straight away.I initially ordered the watermelon juice but the waiter said it was unavailable (even though I already paid for it) so I ordered the ice mint and lime soda instead. I didn’t like the drink. She charged me $7 for the watermelon juice but the mint soda was only $5.50. She only realised the difference in price after I pointed it out and returned $1.50.The spring rolls were fresh, salt and pepper squid was full of flavour and had just the right amount of spice. The Angus Beef was also fresh and delicious but there was not enough meat compared to noodles… other than that, I can’t complain. Will definitely be coming back, next time I’m at The Star.
