Had high hopes for this place as friends wanted to try it and thought it would be convenient as we were watching a show at The Star afterwards. Located on the main casino floor, we were promptly seated on the bench table. They took out drink and meal orders and drinks were brought out quickly. The service went from great to abysmal in a matter of moments.Friends had ordered Salt & Pepper Silken Tofu, Fat Pho Noodles, and Vietnamese Bun Rieu. Tried a bite of tofu which was nice but they commented dishes were average for the amount paid. I had ordered Angus Beef and was advised by waiter it was delayed due to the items from the Woks section taking longer. I observed many diners beside us arrive and receive their meals before we got anything. Eventually friends received their meals but it took another 15 minutes to receive mine (about 1 hour in total from time we ordered). I was on the verge of just cancelling my order. They had pretty much completed their small plate and meals. Had they not delivered it when they did I would have happily skipped my meal and given 1 star here. When my bowl of beef on noodles arrived, I could not understand the delay. It was pretty much fried beef on top of the noodles with garnishes. I got a disingenuous apology for the delay and it was clear they totally messed our order up as I observed noodles from the Wok section delivered to other tables before we got any of our meals. It seemed like a blatant attempt by the waiter to stall us. Quite disappointed by the experience and would definitely recommend dining somewhere else in the casino if you want a timely meal.

Fat Noodle is in Star City, casino level. It is a restaurant by Luke Nguyen, serving primarily Vietnamese food as well as some Thai dishes. We tried the salt and pepper silken tofu for our entree, fried with fresh chilli and garlic. This was extremely good. For the mains we had the fat pho noodles – the chefs signature beef broth with thinly sliced Angus sirloin and brisket, bean sprouts and rice noodles. The flavour was a bit off, too much star anise I think. We also had the bun Rieu – blue swimmer crab and pork meat ball, Vietnamese ham, puffy tofu, mixed herbs, cabbages, spicy shrimp a paste, rich tomato and vermicelli noodle broth. We waited a long time and our dining partner got told his would be 25 minutes longer. His wok beef took over 45 minutes which is pretty bad given the size and level of busyness. aroundtheclockfoodie.com
