Came here for dinners some time ago and over it. Came back for lunch and were quite disappointed. The service was OK at next – had to call the waiter every time I wanted to get my wine topped up. Asked to have a bit of a break between the entire and main – the main came out 2 minutes after the entire plates were cleared. The food was, again, ok at best. I had the bisque for main, which was watery and the seafood was over cooked. As was my wifes whole fish. For the price and standard of restaurant – very underwhelming.

Went there on Valentines Day. It was so busy, have to wait for a while to be seated. Unfortunately, did not get the window seat. But the food it quite good. Love the Entree and desert. Its V day special menu. Will try the daily menu next time.

View is everything~view 8/10, Food 2/10, service 6/10 and not matching with the price at all. I booked the table beforehand and requested for window seat, I got it, so Im pretty happy. The staff is attentive at reception. Then I ordered octopus & trout for entree, the octopus is not fresh taste like flour not chewy at all, the trout is also very average. The main I ordered is barramundi and snapper came both crispy, taste is so so average as you will get is in normal bar. The waiter not even explain the dish and just left it on the table. I didnt even order dessert, wont go back anymore.

We ordered the degustation menu for a birthday, and tbh in the beginning I was quite skeptical because I normally prefer going for my own selection. But this menu did not disappoint! Every dish that came to our table was really enjoyable. Im not a dessert fan but even the desserts were light and had a good balance of sweetness and acidity! The highlight of the night for me was definitely the Tuna entree dish (forgot what it was called) but it was so soft, fresh and delicious! Overall, the service, atmosphere, location (view) and all the food of our night was really enjoyable and it was a great experience. Would definitely come again!

The service was bad made us feel like we were eating at a fast food restaurant not a fine dining restaurant. The chubby guy who served us took our plates two times without asking permission and put down the plates in a very rude way. And accused us shouting at him, we were actually just said excuse me, wont come back anyway. A waste of beautiful waterfront location.

We came here and enjoyed it’s degustation course a couple of years ago. We were really impressed with ambience and fantastic food. So we came back last month when we have friends visiting from overseas. Still good foods but we were slightly disappointed this time as it’s degustation is reduced to 5 course and each portion is larger than we expected but less quality.

Oh dear, where has the soul of this place gone? We visited Flying Fish a few years back when under the management of Peter Kuruvita and what a difference there is now. Previously the ambience, the staff, the feel and sense of calm was all encompassing. Upon arrival the matre d sat us at a dirty table at the front of house and said do you want a drink? – erm, clean the table before you seat us would be nice!!We waited 20 minutes to be seated upstairs and were not offered a drink or bread for a further 15 minutes. Nothing. We ordered the prawns and scallops (2 dishes) to start, the scallops were awful, bland and chewy as rubber. The prawns were decent. The main was the flathead in a Singapore chilli sauce….sounds great right? Bloody terrible. Over cooked and the sauce was like tinned tomatoes – zero seasoning. We complained and had to continuously repeat that the fish was over cooked and not enjoyable. Quite disappointing. The barramundi however was fantastic, truly amazing for flavour and balance. We had returned to FF on a trip from Melbourne for a special weekend – this was a massive disappointment. Care factor has gone and theyre clearly just milking the punters until the place closes down soon.
