It’s still a 24 hour pub, which can come with some rowdiness, but it feels a lot nicer than it used to, with a clean traditional pub on the ground floor and airy bistro and rooftop upstairs. The beers are a bit expensive but not the food. My pork belly burger didn’t look much but it tasted great and came with good crunchy chips – definitely above average pub food at a reasonable price. However, we’d only gone there on a Sunday night because friends wanted to watch a particular football match that they’d listed on their website. The staff couldn’t work out the tv and had to go to a back room to change channels, then run out to see what they’d changed it to. 10 minutes after the game started, they finally found the right channel but then discovered that they hadn’t subscribed to it. Since they’d already gotten money out of us, I reckon that’s pretty fraudulent, not to mention incompetent. I can’t recommend it as a sports bar – just head down to the sports bar at the casino, which WILL show the games they promise and have much better staff.
